What I've been up to...
Well, it's been busy and what suffers? The webpage. So much fun stuff happening that I don't keep my faithful viewers informed. Here's a few nuggets from my recent past:
"Pinks - All Out" : Ever stood right next to a really loud car? How about right between two of them at a dragstrip for 15 hours. My cameraman and I got to chase around the host as he ran around these powerful cars as the owners raced down the track at up to 125 mph. Look for it on The Speed Channel.
"Godfather Radio" : Scare them into doing your bidding. This spot involved the usual. Find a talent to do a New Jersey accent (it can be done in Western NC!), get him recorded and edited, find and edit 4 different types of music, ftp the 4 versions across the country to the client, await comments - repeat! Then get the final to the stations for air the next day.
"Law and Order" : Shot in NY, edited in LA, and the actor lives here in Asheville. Need to change the script? ADR time! I recieved a tape of the video, added streamers and beeps, brought in the actor and before you can say, "Contempt of court!" new voiceovers were on thier way to Universal Television.
"Tribal Safety" : Gotta stay safe! But how do you make that message fun? This series of videos was for the native american population on road safety. In addition to the narration I picked and edited music and added many sfx to keep the shows engaging.
"Cherokee" : Normal day. Four Cherokee warriors in full batle regalia, remote location in a National Forest, heat, bugs, oh, and we want to record the dialogue in front of a hundred foot waterfall! No problem! When's lunch?
"Come Get Some" : What is the sound of a Hillbilly Zombie chopping off your arm with a machete? Think, "Owww!" I mixed this feature film that was full of exactly what you'd expect. It needed full foley, ADR, sfx, music and final mix. Hide the children!
"HGTV Extreme Building" : Picture a rock, on the side of a mountain, hanging hundreds of feet above a lake, in a forest. Let's build a house there! And send a video crew to document it!
Stay tuned true believers!
